    Title: From the Abyss
    Author: Ruskbyte
    Rating: M
    Genre: Angst/Suspense
    DLP Category: Azkaban

    Chapters: 5

    Status: Abandoned

Summary: Three years ago he was wrongfully sent to Azkaban. Now something has happened. Something that has placed the power of a god into the hands of a man that's half insane. A man who wants revenge. The question now is; who's Harry going to kill first?

I was very surprised not to see this old classic on DLP's library after searching around. It's a very good story, and it should be added to the library. I've never actually seen another like it; there's just never been a person capable of really writing insane!Harry quite like this.

And there's a lot of humor; quotes like this:
Only problem is a lack of plot. But that's overshadowed by the fun writing style. 5/5

Sadly though, it's abandoned. Fortunately, a rough plan of what he's going to do is here: http://forum.fanficauthors.net/showthread.php?tid=132

If you don't want that, read this (the ending):

Indeed. It's been a long-time favorite for me. Ah Harry, you never ate your bacon.

Rusk is one of the first authors I closely followed in the HP fandom, and he continues to put out outstanding work; I have yet to read a bad or even decent piece by him. The only problem he has is his horrible rate for updating; even worse than Jeconais. :p

    I'd give this a 4.5/5 as it's abandoned.

I remember reading this one over a year ago. Easily the best insane!Harry I've ever read. The rambling 1st person style in which the story is narrated really makes you feel like there's something wrong with Harry's head.

    5/5

I like it. I especially enjoy the sense of humor throughout it.

This is definately a classic. Most Azkaban stories where Harry goes insane stray from his... uh "insane-ness".

I really love the way Ruskbyte lets us paw through Harry's mind - he really does keep the insaneness going.

My only quibble with the story is that when he gets dumped back at Hogwarts, he doesn't actually kill Dumbles & Co.

Harry even says "I want to kill them.
    All of them.
    Everyone in this forsaken castle.
    This forsaken school.
    All the teachers.
    All the students.
    Every single wizard.
    Every single witch.
    All of them.
    Without exception.
    None deserve to be spare.
    None."

I mean, honestly... He has the means and he has to motives - but in the end all he kills are Aurors.

When (hopefully and not if) Ruskbyte updates, I really hope to see my quibble disappear.

Personally, I think all of Ruskbyte's stories ought to be in the library.

4.5/5 - seeing as he isn't updating *sulks*

I don't think I've ever, ever, read anything so full of rampant destruction and slaughter...it was truly tasty. The way he captures the inner workings of Harry's destroyed mind is almost poetic, both in format and in language. I love Hermione's character normally, and even I was hoping that her imminent rape/death would be especially gruesome and humiliating. Even abandoned, at least it stopped at a good point, so I give this 5/5.

I recall reading this story not so long ago.
I found it very interesting and loved the way the author captured Harry's madness.

One thing I never quite understood though was if Harry was responsible for the rape and murder of the Patil Twins.

Oh well, has the author ever stated whether he will return to it someday?

    4.5/5
It's abandoned....what else is there to say :(

Gotta love the format and Harry's scatterbrained thought process! It's an instant classic.

This was the first Insane!Harry I read, and I don't recall another so good first-person narration in Hp fandom. Really captures the scope of Harry's madness, and the bacon-scene in the last chapter cannot be bettered. Ever. This story is my standard for judging Insane!Harry stories. 5/5, even if it's abandoned.
