    Title: Gene-Spliced Harry
    Author: Cypher3au
    Rating: (R)
    Genre: Sci-fi
    Pairing: Harry/Multiple
    Chapters: 13
    Words: 3,4817
    Published: May 26, 2006
    Updated: August 11, 2007
    Status: Abandoned

Summary: Alternate Order of the Phoenix. Harry is, quite naturally, a little ticked off at his friends and the Headmaster. Muggle science has developed a way to splice animal DNA into humans. Fawkes has come to Harry's aid once before. Can you see where I'm going with this?

First time doing this so if I do something wrong, don't whip out the banstick immediately.

    ......Lmao.

As long as you don't take this story seriously, it's a pretty good read.

Agreed. I've been following this one on Rorschach Blot's yahoo group for a little while. An interesting idea, treated very light-hearted and fun. Entertaining even in the moments it's less than excellent. Recommended. (Though I've not read it since it was posted on ficwad... I know a few chapters were combined and maybe slightly edited.)

I've been following it at Rorsch's group too. Basic idea is pretty stupid, but it's written so well, in a funny and relaxed sort of way, that I didn't mind it too much. BTW I think there are few more chapters at his group, if you can't wait for a proper update...

It's not a 'blog'. We were talking about Rorschach's Blot yahoogroup. Where this fic was first posted and written.

    http://groups.yahoo.com/group/CaerAzkaban/

I think now that the fic has a more permanent home, ficwad's all caught up and where the new chapters are headed. (I think 14 "parts" on Senor Blot's group = 10 chapters on ficwad.) But now that the author has graced us with his not her presence, I'm guessing he can tell us better.

I don't have a yahoo group of my own or a fanfiction.net account; I'm pretty much just posting to ficwad.com.

Ah, good old Perth. I believe a friend of mine once referred to it as 'The Arse End of Nowhere'.

"The fifth-year class was treated to the unusual sight of Harry Potter screaming and throttling the crap out of a choking, madly cackling, and winged Hermione Granger, while another Harry Potter was rolling on the floor and laughing his ass off."

That line made the story. Really.

I read this. Not bad, but not exactly the greatest. Funny in parts though.

    hmm..its just like most other fics..some parts are great..some parts are crap...the trick is to get the ratio correct:}

some stories raved about I found bleh..and some people canned I loved..so different folks different strokes ( I like long slow ones myself)

anyway back to eating my Krispy Kreams

What did you think was crap about it? I'd like to know what it is so I can stop doing it, if possible.

First of all, this is constructive and I mean no offence. :)

Well, part of it was the casual disregard gene splicing was treated with. As of now, gene splicing is done on eggs unborn, and even then is done very precisely. I'm rather scientific in nature, and I usually nitpick these kinds of things. Also, the FDA (Food and Drug Administration) is the United States. It'd be the British Medicines and Healthcare Products Regulatory Agency. Being a humor fic, this can be passed off, it just seemed so abrupt and anticlimatic when he did get spliced.

The other part was the fic felt somewhat rushed as well. Just *bang* next topic. That was sort of the situation with the girls as well. He seems to be picking them up like I do programming languages.

No offence taken. I'm kinda used to writing on Anime Addventure, and I imagine that's given me a couple of bad habits. Feel free to slap me across the head with a rolled-up newspaper if you see me doing something stupid.
