I recently found those as well, though with rainymood.com in place of the last vid.

 

My friend showed me the 'Fragrance of Dark Coffee + Rainymood' combo about a year ago. Since then, it is the single most played thing in my iTunes.

 

I found it works best if you turn the rain volume down a bit, as it lets the fire come to the fore.

 

I love on the second one, the guy tags the video asking "Hey if its not too much to ask, can you guys not make anymore 'I need to piss comments' Thanx"

The first one is pretty cool. Would make an awesome screen saver

 

Oh my god. While I admit that this is very relaxing to listen to, I couldn't stop laughing the first play through.

Playing that in iTunes while listening to the fire and the jazz on youtube will let you control the volume of the rain.

On the topic of relaxation: does anyone on DLP other than myself get "ASMR"? ASMR is a quasi-scientific acronym for Autonomous Sensory Meridian Response.

It's possible that you get it but don't know the name.

ASMR refers to a kind of tingling feeling you get on the scalp and back of neck (for some people, it even extends down the spine and to the legs) when you see and hear certain triggers. It's an extremely relaxing feeling that only some people are able to feel.

There hasn't been much research into it so I can't tell you that it's genetic, but it's certainly one of those things that people who don't get it just don't get it.

Triggers vary between people, but there are certain commonalities. Watching people perform manual tasks like drawing, brushing things, inspect things, handling objects, etc. is a common trigger - along with the sounds which accompany these things. Another common trigger is soft speaking to a background of quiet - music and ASMR are almost always mutually exclusive.

If you've had this before you probably know what I'm talking about already, even if you didn't know it had a name. If you have no idea what I'm talking about, likelihood is you can't get it.

Anyway, there's a huge YouTube community surrounding ASMR. People make videos to deliberately trigger it (though another common trigger is authenticity, so the videos are never as good as the real thing).

Warning: if you don't get ASMR, these videos will be mind-numbingly dull.

I ran into Fragrance a while ago and forgot it's name. Suddenly this thread gets necro'ed, dear god this is awesome.
