You awaken and wonder why in the world Typhon would elect fonti to be marketplace owner when he literally two posts before said that town shouldn't elect fonti/newcomb.

---------- Post automerged at 03:36 AM ---------- Previous post was at 03:33 AM ----------

You also wonder since when could one read fonti based on tone

At the end of the day there's another day dawning
And the sun in the morning is waiting to rise
Like the waves crash on the sand
Like a storm that'll break any second
There's a hunger in the land
There's a reckoning still to be reckoned
And there's gonna be hell to pay
At the end of the day

    Good morning!

    Welcome, Monsieur, sit yourself down
And meet the marketplace owner in town
As for the rest, all of 'em crooks
Rooking their guests and cooking the books
    Seldom do you see
    Honest men like me
    A gent of good intent
    Who's content to be

    This post makes me shiver.

Jarizok - Why do you except fontis townlean on Miner without questioning it and are against the other reads?

Do you have any read on Miner yourself?

I don't want to say anything more, because I am a nice person today.

    ---------- Post automerged at 09:06 ---------- Previous post was at 08:46 ----------

Are you sure that you know what you are talking about?
    Lets talks about this :

Pretty sure this sums up the roleinteractions between the two up.

-> removes the protection from jailkeep and doctor on the night it gets used.

Not sure why you would say that Vira got anything wrong there. You might disagree with her prioritization, but the core of her statement is true.

    Next blunder :

There are two. There are even two kinds of two.

    a. The hitman role today has 2 charges.
    b. There are two hitman roles in the ability pool. Hitman 1x and Hitman 2x.

Her reference to the Hitman-ability in the quote above ("Hitman x2 is tier 1") is true as well.

I think Vira is more likely town for her suggestestions so far, but your reasoning here is subpar.

In addition I would like an explanation to the later part of your quote.
    A reminder :
I get that the first bit gets the price in case of a tie, but do you think the difference between 500 and 501 is that big that people should bid the 500 right now?
Because in that case Newcombs idea would just not work.

You like Newcombs suggestion, after saying something like this, which renders his plan useless.
I get that you might not have seen his suggestion before, but the question is more what do you think is more useful, and why did you suggest your plan in the first place?
The upside is making mafia use 1 (one) more point, which they will do anyway, unless they were bidding 1 sec into d1 which is a big risk for several reasons (for any player).

    ---------- Post automerged at 09:12 ---------- Previous post was at 09:06 ----------

    Why am I all alone?

How am I supposed to get more than 1 post while screaming at the wall that is this thread?

It might be the best post and the number 1 suits me well .. but I can only keep up the appearance of being towny with more posts than this!

    Help!

    ---------- Post automerged at 09:26 ---------- Previous post was at 09:12 ----------

    First townleans :

Rubicon for having a similar reaction to Jarizok.
+the fact that he either didn't know about refunds or made a well placed dumbtell.

Vira for the way she argues for/against Hitman/Doctor.

I can follow her reasoning, but the way she is openly campaigning and going against the stream is far less likely to be from scum.

    Bad reason townlean :

Waco for his neighbourizer comment, which opened up a new conversation topic.

Or anyone based on tone when they're talking mechanics
    (disclaimer: skimming over mechanics posts)

    Tom!

Another soul roaming these lonely parts of town
At times when most people are in their nightgown.
I longed for company and got you instead,
Like wishing for color and all you get is black.

I don't know .. I am better at stealing than creating.
How are you and do you have any non mechanical thoughts so far?

Hey Jan, I'm at work so we can break each others posts all day if you want.

Last things first, if anyone is going to get credit for opening up conversation about neighbourizer, that would be me every time.

I liked Font's tone early and had no read on Miner early. Doing the 3rd person thing could be done from any alignment. So if Fonti says she's townreading Miner, that's fine with me. Face value.

Questioning Fonti too much last game I played didn't work out, let's just see where it goes this time.

Still no real read on Miner. Since you bring it up, wanna throw out any theories about what he's doing here?

    I am many colors.

Not a lot tbh. I don't think anyone has said much thats alignment indicative. Which is the problem with mechanical discussion.

I like that Newcomb had an actual plan and didn't belabor the point.
I like that Vira was thinking for herself rather than going along with conventional wisdom.
Kind of like Jarizok's IDGAFness, but I never did get around to reading his scumgame.
Typh is the closest thing I have to scumread and, well, meh.

You shake your head at the town and say "second is better than third."

You then ask tom when was the last time he had a really strong read early d1.

I caught Vaimes 15 posts into the game earlier this year.
He was a spectator with a role but still.

I'm sure something will jump out at me soon.

    Thoughts on Jan?

You shrug and say that you agree with his Vira read but disagree with his Rubicon read. Mostly because with this new setup it's easy to dumbtell. Also because you don't currently believe their Jarizok read.

First part : that is just .. really? Sure not doubting everything is fine, but you didn't even ask for a reason to comprehend what she is doing or anything and most stuff she has done so far is mechanics based, which sounds great but is the easiest stuff to fake and something scum are likely to go back to when in doubt.

Second part : Nah - Miner is weird most of the time, I almost always want to lynch him because something rubs me the wrong way, but Fonti almost always has a somewhat accurate read on him and expects me normally to have it as well, which I don't think I had in any of the past couple of games we played.
His play so far is somewhat fake, but that does not mean it is scummy.
He is changing up his style/phrasing compared to other games.

He got called out for it early on .. by waco, i think, but stayed the course for the most part. Which is normally a towntell for a new player, because scum are more likely to appease etc.
But that is just not enough for me. He has played a few games now and tried to improve and talked to people (I assume). Pretty sure he would be capable of faking that little bit as scum.

If I ever get a read on fonti that I feel actually good about then I might sheep her miner read, but I don't have it so I wont. Esp not this early on.

So I'm not the only one who thinks that read was somewhere between poor and artificial?

It's the why I' debating atm

    Hey Jan!!!

What are your thoughts on Rubicon's Vira read, and his subsequent conversation about it with Typhon?

You wonder if it's a good idea to start bidding.

You look around questioningly at town.

I had the same initial thought that Rubicon had and I don't have enough input from Typhon to have an actual oppion on his part of the conversation. He said he will make his point today and we will see what it is. (Unless I somehow missed it).

I already mentioned earlier that I have a slight townread on Rubicon for having the same thought process on the matter at the same time as I was catching up.

Let's see where the discussion goes, maybe they willl blow my mind, but I doubt it.
