    Well, three chapters in and
    Emily is back. Called it like two months ago, that Harry would raise her from his scar horcrux

    Otherwise, the story continues to feature awkward, stilted dialogue, sometimes bewildering characterisation, plenty of inane moments... and yet it still kinda tingles my sense of wanting to know what will happens next.

    Having read what's posted of the sequel, I've changed my mind about the first installment. That said, the way it was executed (ie. the epilogue) was incredibly flawed.

    It could be seen a mile off, but

    bringing Emily back

    was a good move in my book. It gives the opportunity to resolve some of the loose ends from the original that caused it to fall flat.

    I think I was so baffled by the ending that I was blinkered to the rather obvious hints. That and the fact that she
    destroyed all of her other horcruxes
    Threw me off.

    In hindsight, the whole thing makes sense, but I think it should have been teased a bit more obviously in the epilogue for dense people like myself.
