All I can say at this point is that this episode was wholly worth the long wait.

Why would you do this? There are spoiler tags for a reason.

Unless it's a joke in which case ignore me.

Edit: Turns out I'm an idiot.

Lol love handles at the start of this episode.

On the other hand ending is a cliffhanger again. Whoever is writing these things is really good at those.

At the end of last weeks episode a guy who we couldn't see walked away with the box of drugs. Was he the guy who was committing the murders in this weeks episode? The preview for next weeks episode shows Lucifer going to Hell again. So I'm pretty convinced that we are going to meet another one of Lucifer's brothers or sisters.

'How do I turn this thing off?' -Lucifer while covered in bitches. I lol'd.

Very impressed with the last two episodes. We get actual plot instead of filler. Hope it continues like this.

Damn but this episode was amazing. Entirely plot-driven, and a lot more somber than I was expecting.

This half-season just keeps getting better.

Hell the search for cure was actually interesting. Also this was probably most supernatural episode of the show, I think someone complained about there not being enough of that stuff?

    I also liked the Hell.

I think the thing this show lacks is the larger supernatural world. There is no Demon organization, nor Angels have anything.

Instead this is much more personal with the focus on a few people which is while good on its own way is not enough I feel.

Yeah, I agree with this. This is a fun show, but it's the same as any other supernatural-twist cop show. We have the devil instead of a psychic or someone with police-issue fauxtism, but that's largely tangential to the story week by week and just played in the background for laughs.

There would be almost no change to the bulk of the show if you swapped the supernatural elements out for a unusually charismatic rich guy with daddy issues.

And the first episode of season 3 did nothing to disabuse me of that notion. Sigh.

Anyone else catch the new episode? Just got on this show recently while browsing Netflix.

As far as season premieres and the hype around it after the finale and the intermediate period, I was disappointed in the episode. It was ... okay, but nothing beyond that. I hate that we're still beating around the bush with telling Chloe what's up, I dislike the wings having no more impact than, say, a tattoo or hangerchief might.

At least it seems that more non-humans will be introduced. Hopefully.

I liked Tom Welling in this. Wonder what they'll do with his character.

HOOOOOOOOOOOOOOLY CRAP. This episode. I don't have the words for this one. Watch this and weep people.

Episode 7 is probably the best Lucifer episode ever. I mean it slows a bit in the middle but that descent of the character by Reeese and that ending. Bloody Hell. It is really dark episode probably the darkest of the series yet.

    Gogogogo. And watch it now.

Edit: Thinking about it more, This episode is really sad. So be warned.

Oh man, that ending. When he woke up in the hospital, that moment was just fantastic. They really rubbed it in that he was in hell, though. :/

    What a great episode, regardless.

Best of the season by far. Filler, sure, but good, entertaining filler, unlike the previous ones.

Finally caught up, the last two episodes definitely have shown an upswing in quality, though there does not seem to be much angel-ly stuff going on so far. Still holding onto my Ella=Azazel theory, Not sure where the brothers fit in, maybe its a body-borrow. Still, she's hearing voices so somethings going on with that girl.

I did sigh a bit at the whole dumping the wings in garbage bags, with Linda. Weren't they supposed to inspire madness and devotion at a glance last season? Now they're getting chucked out like leftover chicken.

Oh I thought I might as well put this here: https://www.fanfiction.net/s/11821825/1/Damnatio-Memoriae
Its basically the only really good Lucifer story I've found. Started in season 1 so some of the characters developed differently than they have in the show. Amenadial in particular gets the short end of the sick. Adds more of that supernatural edge that the show sometimes lacks.

Summery: Chloe tries to solve the riddle that is Lucifer Morningstar. Dan even manages to help. When mysterious ritualized killings start showing up, Chloe suspects Lucifer may know more than he lets on. Problem is, she doesn't know what she thinks she does.

This one is OK: https://www.fanfiction.net/s/11887503/1/Devil-s-Bargain Starts with someone kidnapping Trixie and also has actual Devil-like Lucifer. The Hell stuff is nicely realized and Chloe's rationalizations at least make some kind of sense. Does have heavy Dan-bashing though to be fair I think the story was started while it looked like Dan was shaping up to be a proper dick. Still his reactions to daughters kidnapping definitely stretch the realms of credulity.

Summery: Trixie gets kidnapped. Lucifer disapproves..

There's pretty much nothing else worth reading as far as I can see.

Didn't they burn them, though? Perhaps it's quick enough for the devotion bit to not kick in?

I'd assume growing a new pair might reduce the divinity of the cut off ones... that's a shaky defense though.

It's more that it further erodes the supernatural element to the show. Lucifer's wings were something divine, that made them special/dangerous etc even cut off, it was a whole plot point. To have his new wings just lying around to be stuffed into garbage bags and tossed into a dumpster fire, by a human no less, kind of undermines their established status.

It was obviously a purposeful choice, they couldn't have made them look less special than they did. But it just seems odd when how special they were was a whole thing earlier on
