Round I Winner: Eternal Twilight of the Wicked Mind

In the end it came down to literally a hair's breadth between Eternal Twilight of the Wicked Mind and In Essence Divided, with Eternal Twilight of the Wicked Mind edging out it's competition by a single vote.

You guys know the drill, get crackin'.

Oh god. So, writing a second chapter for this is going to be pretty much like coming up with a new fic from scratch.

    :facepalm

Yes, thank you, we understand how much you disliked Eternal Twilight :|

Now kindly bugger off and ignore the rest of the RR contests. Seriously, stop bitching.

Aww. Was really rooting for In Essence Divided. I had plot ideas and everything. :3

Still, hope the new round goes well. It's true there's a lot you can do with ETWM. Might just try my hand at this round. Maybe.

I didn't dislike it anymore than any of the other stories, and I'm still going to write a chapter for it. There was a distinct lack of Daphne in the previous entries, and that must be amended.

Cut it out with that Daphne business. She's not a good character. Anyway, I'm glad Essence didn't win. Three cheers for not everyone in DLP being a pervert! Only half!

There is potential here, don't think otherwise. That's why it won.

Do we get to know who wrote the initial chapter? I would praise them.

Will be writing for this contest!

Editz: Never mind - my boy Silenz takes it home.

Since we're a week into April I thought it prudent to ask; what's the deadline for Round II?

The plan was to have the first round be the whole month and the judging be the first week of March. Then people would write the second chapter in the next three weeks, with the stories open for viewing on the first of April. Then we would judge those chapters in the first week of April and start writing the third chapter in the next three weeks. Since the judging hasn't happened yet, it looks like the ball has been dropped quite badly again somewhere.

From what I see in the posts/topics list for the submissions area, I don't think anyone else has actually contributed toward the next RR entry/month.

It looks like there are at 5 chapters posted, but I can't actually see in. 6 threads with 8 posts, one of those threads is the sticky with the rules. Or I could be wrong.

I've looked and looked but I can't seem to find anything written for round two, or even people saying they were working on it. Hell, I don't think Silens has done anything for it, and it was his fic in the first place.

Collective D'oh from the DLP :facepalm

Anarchy, the five posts you see are from the first round. Can you not enter the submissions section?

Pretty much this. The original RR submissions are still sitting around where they were submitted, while World went ahead and duplicated that stuff to give us the anonymous stories in the display forum.

Yup, I for one haven't finished mine. I don't feel any guilt, though, since I got so much project work done. :3

I don't think Silens should write anything, I've been saying, and shall keep saying, that no author should be allowed an entry the month after they win.

    So, er, excuse the bump.

Just wondering if Round II is still the plan for future Contest's- like May. We're a week in, which still gives folks a few more to crank out anything if indeed we're aiming to continue Eternal Twilight of the Wicked Mind, but if not...

Perhaps start planning again for May/July?

    Fuck the bump! :)

There are a number of ideas on my desktop which might be worthy of a DLP Contest, and I'm interested in why there has not been any Monthly Challenges lately too...

    *I even have a suggestion.
There has been a pretty popular thread about
how Ron Weasley is actually kind of awesome,
and I read a oneshot earlier today by Perspicacity
which was likely inspired by it.

So just throwing the topic out there; *Awesome Ron*

^^ this. What's up with the Round Robin II? If it's being discontinued then too bad, but I do have a few ideas that could turn out well for a normal monthly DLP contest too, depending on the theme. World, what's going on?

Maybe a simple Ginny or Draco kill-off would be a better way to start things back up? A short story someone could conceivably dash off in a few days.
