Why not? It could work, especially if they added some Rowling-approved content. Why have Pottermore if you can add stuff as you go along?

Because the plot doesn't progress in an episodic way.

A MTG series is apparently coming.

    Dresden Files, obviously.

    More Hornblower!

Generally, I want more High Fantasy. Elves and dwarves and all that awesome shit.

A TV-series or a group of movies narrating David and Leigh Eddings The Belgariad and The Malloreon would be awesome. My life would be complete.

There already are tv adaptations of Tinker, Tailor... and Smiley's People, from 1979 and 1982 respectively.

This has actually been announced, but as far as I'm aware there's been nothing said since 2011, so take it as you will.

Legend of Zelda movie. 'Nuff said.

Someone mentioned God of War, which would be fucking fantastic on the big screen. The Rock as Kratos.

Metal Gear Solid will become a movie (ironically, it is more movie than video game in a lot of ways) and, depending on who they cast as Solid Snake, it could be great. Hope it follows PS1 MGS storyline.

Sapped for good ideas right now. There are some really nice ones in the thread so far.

Discworld did have a terrible few adaptations, and Magicians? It actually IS being made into a TV series.

Nice thread idea. Lot of my choices have already been stated (Dresden, Magicains, etc.) but I'd like to see some type of Wheel of Time adaptation.

While there are a lot of flaws in the books and there are a shit load of books, I'd love to see something made from them. Obviously, like others have said, something high budget like HBO would be best so it doesn't end up like 'Legend of The Seeker' and other similar cheap adaptations.

    Animated Artemis Fowl Movies.

I actually feel like they'd make good 2 1/2 hour movies, because there isn't too much jammed into one book.

I know there is an Artemis Fowl movie coming out, but I kind of wish it was animated. That way they can kind of do what they need to do with Artemis Fowl.

Child actor's who need to play genius' are always a let down.

Edit: Animation on the level of Despicable Me.

They'd have to start with Pug's series first obviously (maybe start as a direct to tv movie for Magician). But HBO could totally pull this off.

Well, okay, maybe not an adaptation of the books themselves. But don't tell me that a tv series based in Hogwarts wouldn't be nice.

I'd rather see one based on a part of the wizarding world that didn't have six and a half books written about it. A political drama following the people rebuilding the Ministry of Magic. A series following the English Quidditch team as they try to handle the pressure of qualifing for the next Quidditch World Cup. An Indiana Jones-style adventure following a team of curse breakers in Egypt. Charlie Weasley: Dragon Whisperer.

I'd even take a soap opera based in Hogsmeade over anything to do with Hogwarts.

I think a mini-series that followed Dumbledore through the war with Grindelwald would be sweet to see. It would still have some Hogwarts in it, but Hogwarts would not be the central focus. And we'd get to see Dumbledore be the badass that he is which would be incredibly awesome.

The Bartimaeus trilogy could be awesome.

Also...I really want to see more Chronicles of Narnia movies. Beyond just the typical Lion, Witch, and the Wardrobe/Caspian. Give me the Horse and His boy! Give me the Last Battle!

    Heck, I'll take the Magician's Nephew. :p

Edit: I know that these have technically already been animated somewhat but...

The Chronicles of Prydain, by Lloyd Alexander.

    and

Any Redwall Book, by Brian Jacques.
