Not sure if I could post this here, but what are some Naruto Cliches? (Mods, if this the incorrect place can you please move it?)

• Jiraiya takes Naruto away at birth and is on par with the Akatsuki.
• Yaoi.

 

1)Naruto summons Foxes

2)Naruto is uber powerful but still takes shit from everyone

3)Kyuubi attacked because of Orochimaru

 

Naru/Hina 'nuff said.

 

- Kyuubi "changing" because of Naruto and calling him "Kit". (It can be done well, but it's been done badly more than not.)

- Naruto being almost beaten to death numerous times when a child. (I'm sure he hadn't had the happiest childhood, but some people are just unrealistic with this.)

Lets see... Naruto running away because of abuse is a cliche

Itachi training him.

Gaara, Naruto and Haku "Genin Team"

Non Evil Kyuubi

Tsunade or Jiraiya raise him outside of Konoha

Learning the Rasengan even if hes not a leaf-nin

Hirashin no Jutsu(Spelling) Naruto using the Konoha's Yellow Flash jutsu.

a New village in Wave Country.

Sasuke comming back to Konoha

Kyuubi having a human form.

Naruto using weights and or weight seal.

Naruto having control over an element.

well.. Thats all I can think of right now. My second Naruto story I always look at whats common and avoid it as much as I can.

 

- Orochimaru killing all the Uchihas instead of Itachi
- Kyuubi attacking the village because of a dead mate/kits
- Naruto gets a really high rank at a young age or becomes a severely overpowered genin

 

These I don't agree with personally.

Cliches, let's see.

Naruto taking up Zabuza's sword, I've only seen Never Cut Twice use it wel

Naruto dying from Sasuke's Chidori to the chest and Kyuubi decided to merge with Naruto because he respects him so much.

Sakura suddenly seeing the light after Sasuke leaves and goes out with Naruto

Naruto getting exiled from the village after the rescue mission

Naruto inventing styles from computer games or other manga's

 

Naruto being beat to death because he failed to bring back Sasuke

Yondaime being Naruto's dad

Naruto having a bloodline that is a mix of Byakugan and Sharingan

Kyuubi hearing ALL of Naruto's thoughts

 

That one is so obviously canon is really not funny. Not exactly a cliche.

What is a cliche is Yondiame being brought back to life because of that.

 

That is true, and also people saying that Naruto was used as a container because Yondaime didn't want to burden another family is a cliche.

 

Most. cliches. EVER.

Seriously, I read that story and thought it was a parody up until he graduated using Hiraishin, Kuchiyose, and getting 100% on everything else.

Add to the fact he falls in love with a girl (and makes out with her) after knowing her a total of 1 1/2 days, and you have the largest cliche in history.

But let's see what mine are....

-Slash (definately not cannon, not even the Naru/Sasu kiss was willing in the Japanese version)

-Naru/Hina (It's been done to death, but there are a few exceptions).

-Beating Itachi after 3 years of training (He was barely able to hold his own against the Missing-Nin clone of Itachi in the Manga for fucks sake).

-Being trained by Kyuubi (Yes, it's inevitable, but most of the time they mainly give him summoning for Foxes)

-Naruto having an unbelievable bloodline (Like being able to copy a move after seeing it JUST once. It's called the Sharingan folks, and he don't have it).

-Naruto having a bloodline period (He's got Kyuubi, he doesn't need any more power).

That's mainly it.

Those (Naru/HP) aren't too bad so long as there's a good explanation and how they tie them in...

That's the only good one that isn't filled with cliches or anything of the sort. Plus it's actually written pretty decently.

 

Actually, since the Kyuubi's soul is bound to Naruto's, they are, in essence, one being, so it should naturally be able to hear all of Naruto's thoughts.

And plus, the Kyuubi can hear Naruto's thoughts in canon as well (or else how would Naruto access his chakra, 'cause he obviously doesn't take a short trek through some maze like sewer system to stop at an oversized cage and yell at some huge demon each time he needs some special chakra).

 

Aint that the truth. What about the entire shinobi continent being mysteriously hidden by illusionists or Harry being related to Naruto or the Uchiha clan.

 

Then shouldn't Naruto be able to hear Kyuubi's thoughts as well?

 

Never thought about it like that. Hmmm. I guess some dont portray it that way because they think Kyuubi is a tool for filler, pointless banter, and giving Naruto chakra. Thats another cliche. Dumb!Kyuubi.

 

Ah.. i have read a lot of Naruto fanfiction, and i wonder about what you call cliche.

-As far as i know, there is only one fic that have a hidden village in wave
-Kyuubi being dumb is actualy rarer than him being an endless source of jutsu.
-Sakura growing up after Sasuke left is actualy canon...
-I have never seen a good superpower!Naruto at a young age (i am trying to write one, but for the moment it's trash so...)
-Wearing weitgh is a bit inevitable if naruto wants to be half way decent.

-Kyuubi training Naruto is really a cliche, and it *is* evitable.

 

Suupa Kurishu Naruto right here. The author does mention being "inspired" by many other fics. It has, along with many of those listed:
-Naruto making a deal with Kyuubi, merging and getting charka, improved senses and physical changes
-Naruto being left a letter/getting notes from the Fourth, with his jutsus
-Itachi kills his clan for "noble" reasons, usually for Sasuke
-Since Naruto is "in good" with the Hokage he can get Itachi a pardon
-Naruto gives Kyuubi a body, usually to "save" him from being absorbed
-Naruto helps Gaara, usually by fixing his seal or getting it fixed
One I haven't seen mentioned is the fact that Naruto always seems to learn the Kage Bunshin, no matter where he is. I think this is at least, if not more, prevalent than learning the Rasengan.
