At least she didn't take the sword.
Imagine her with the duty of a cop and a knight *shudder*

How many precious pages would be wasted to her speeches then?

Her not taking the sword pissed me off more then anything else. I mean, she whines and bitches about it being her duty to help, but when it comes down to it, she's just a vanilla mortal with a gun. She had the chance to take a powerful weapon and become a major threat to some, and she turned it down.

Stupid cunt. I actually hadn't minded her either until then.

I was dissapointed with her for not taking it as well... but more because for the last few books she was angsting something fierce about either not knowing enough or not being properly involved in the important issues...

And now she's given the ultimate opportunity to allieviate said angst by being given a tool that will always give her the information she needs through fluke circumstances, and put her in the middle of the action when she needs to be there... and she turns it down.

I mean its not like she doesn't already know that by what she's seen of michael and what dresdens told her.

she bull shited a lame loyalty speech about swearing by the law and blah blah, when she's already compromised herself on more than a dozen occasions with dresden.

I mean really, torching a nest of vampires and their thralls. To do it to survive is one thing, but she was invited to search them out.

If that doesn't violate her " sacred oath " to uphold the law and its values I don't know what does.

She just woosed out... I mean if she had admitted that she didn't want it right now, then that would have been more acceptable, but instead she tried to make it seem noble. That pissed me off...

I don't think this has been posted here before, but the cover of Turn Coat has been released.

Is it just me, or does his staff look a bit hell firey?

Possibly, though I'm more interested in the two people behind him. Cowl & Kumori perhaps?

Yeah, looks like Cowl and Kumori. Interesting writing on the wall to the right.

The staff looks like on my cover of Proven Guilty, so I don't see anything new.

And is that Amoracchius he is holding?

on the Jim Butcher forums, this has been debated to all get out, and I browsed the arguments a bit. I am personally of the opinion that it is Amoracchius. Others seem to think that it is not fancy-schmancy enough, and that it is the old cane sword that Harry uses as a focus for his Earth Magic. Or possibly another random sword.

Looks like it, we can see the nail right above the cross guard.

This has been posted before, there is a discussion on it in pages 4 and 5 atleast of this thread.

The main discussion was the sword, Its either his cane sword( highly doubtful), one of 2 swords of the cross, or Morgan's sword. Remember they are all only ordinary swords in Harry's hands.

Out of those, the only ones I think it could be are Amoracchius or Morgan's sword, because it is too large to be a cane sword and it sure as hell isn't a rapier or a katana, it is a broadsword. There is also the possibility that it isn't any of these swords, it is a new one.

Meh, I just scanned through the thread quickly looking for images and did a search for "Turn Coat cover". Didn't find anything with the image so went ahead and posted it. Looked a little closer and noticed a link. My bad =/.

Don't worry about it, the cover is cool enough to justify a second mention. As for the sword, well I don't think that too much stock can be put into the covers as far as spoilers go.

Yeah, I was looking at the covers of earlier books, and one of them, Fool Moon I think, had the leather glove on his left hand even though it hadn't been burned yet.

Well just look at Small Favor's cover. In the book Harry was never standing in a burning building with his hand cannon either.

As far as I know, Harry doesn't wear a hat like that, either. Or at all.

As do I. Having said that, I have absolutely no idea why he has one.
