So, I haven't had much luck finding many of these on Fanfiction, and was wondering if you folks had any recommendations.

To clarify, I mean a story that takes place in the Dresden Files universe, but doesn't involve ANY of the main characters in a more than a minimal role. It seems like, with JB's fantastic worldbuilding, this would be more of a thing.

 

I know of two:

Fair Vote by Nick Chiseler
This novel isn't about Dresden. It's about an apprentice, George Saga, who in the process of disentangling himself from a star-crossed selkie ends up lost within the dark alleys of Miami politics. With a twist of demon.

New York Magician by The Custodian
Michel Wibert was raised by his grandmother. He's well off, stubborn, independent, and has strong ideas about what goes in his hometown of New York City.

He can also see Gods.

With little to no magical talent of his own, Michel instead treats with the Elders, bartering for favors and trinkets. He started out doing so because his Nana taught him to. As he gets older, though, he comes to realize that he might in fact have a reason, a role - one he himself doesn't understand.

Both are interesting and fantastic, check them out.

 

Read both of em, love em. Although, I'm STILL waiting for more updates on the New York Magician. Seems like there's one every 3-4 months.

 

Quality's worth it, but yeah.

 

Yeah, Even Hand was what inspired me to write my OC fic, and I was hoping there'd be more to look at and learn from. Ah well, could be worse.

 

Skimmed your story. Looks good. You should put it up on Work by Author. Plenty of Dresden fans here, lots of people willing to help, and the chance to get some advice from the masters of the craft.

 

I was thinking of that, but didn't know precisely where was an appropriate place to post.
