Summary: He's the 56th Johto Champion. This is his autobiography of when he was evicted from his home and forced to be a trainer, to his growth into a young man in a tense world, and to an older man with a past many Pokemon Trainers can learn from. R-n-R *OC AU*

Yea another pokemon story with elements of realism. The writing is fluid and crisp, with very little grammar mistakes to speak of. The first few chapters was annoying with angst, but after that the story picks up and becomes a great read. So if you loved The Sun Soul you like this. 5/5

    The author started a sequel:

Title: Pokemon 0: Hearts of Trainers
    Rating: M

    Status: Abandoned
Summary: It's been four years since Ed met Rob and got involved with Team Zero. He's lived a comfortable life in Sinnoh until trouble comes to Veilstone and he gets caught in it. This is the sequel to Pokemon 0.

I liked Sun Soul a lot more than this one - the Gary Stu helping the main character kind of bothers me - the story was much more entertaining where he was away.

That said, this isn't a bad story - the Zero ball is a great plot point, and the realism is sort of interesting.

I feel similarly. Good, but disappointing after Sun Soul.

I like the idea of the Zero ball, too. It's interesting how it can subvert the system around them. I always found the whole pokeballs teleporting away questionable.

On the other hand, the main character rubbed me the wrong way. The autobiography thing irritated me. OC not so much.

Meh, writing wasn't all that good and the characters annoy me. Only read a few chapters and I doubt I'll read more. That said, I liked how they train the pokemon.

Like Oz said, the writing at the beginning is sort of meh, but I like where it is heading and it seems to be improving. It isn't perfect yet mind you.

Sun Soul tainting me or not, I still enjoyed this one. I'm always a fan of well-written OC's and grimdark Pokemon settings, so this is a pretty good find for both. I'll mostly agree with Torak, in that Ed's angst is a little annoying, but I understood it enough to not let it bother me for the rest of the story. That he may become a badass later on is just icing on the cake.

I say library worthy, but just, with what is written now. It's what's probably coming that intrigues me the most, but since we rate about what's been written thus far, I'll just say it's library worthy and move on.

Does anyone think that Ed not telling either his brother or Rob about who it was who kidnapped him and sold him into slavery was fucking stupid?

Good job Ed I wonder how many other kids will take your place in the next week?

Yea that slavery bit was completely retarded especially after Ed met him again later on and just let him walk.
