Ideally this would not only be a good recreational reading list, but also a list of books that could be used as an example of how to write that particular emotion. I, for example, have no idea how to write characters that are experiencing rage in a realistic manner.

So, name a book that you think is able to present a realistic portrayal of an emotion through the characters. Any emotion is fine. Accurate portrayals of conditions such as depression or PTSD would also be good choices.

Without hyping it too much, I'll just say that it's one of my favorite books ever. In terms of emotional range, just off the top of my head, there are exquisite, detailed, amazingly real depictions of loss, anger, love, PTSD, and family dynamics.
