The NZT-48 is a fictional drug depicted in both movie and series Limitless. It's the ultimate brain enhancer, capable of turning the average every joe into a super genius.

The idea behind this thread is simple. You have seven days worth of NZT to use in any way you want to. All your cognitive skills are enchanced. You have an eidetic memory (you remember every single moment of your life with great clarity), laser-like focus and can read/absorb information exponentially faster than before. Disciplines that eluded you (yes, even Math) are now easily understandable for your otherwordly intellect, and your laziness and nasty habit of procrastinating are history.

A few examples from canon are:
-The series' protagonist, Brian Finch, became profficient in foreign languages in matter of few days of studying them in the internet.
-Same with hacking, and achieved skill comparable to some of the best in the field.
-Judo moves that could take a talented person a couple of years to learn were mastered in the span of, again, a few days.
-The movie's protagonist, Eddie Morra, had a grave case of writer's block. He completed the book in a single day on the pill.
-Eddie talked his way into the pants of a girl that hated his guts in a few hours (that counts, right?)

Now, since some people here are already exceptional in one or more fields, let's consider that the pill takes everyone to roughly the same level of intelligence. Using a RPG-like example, whether you're Lv.32 or Lv.50 you will get upped to Lv.100, essentially making you an epic genius in any field you apply yourself. Obviously, everyone will have headstarts in stuff they already are good at.

The skills learned during this period are retained, though you won't be able to use them with the same competence as before, but it will be enough to be a hell of a headstart into even the most difficult fields.

I would use these days to finally learn to play the guitar I bought years ago but keep procrastinating on actually using it and to hone my writing skills. Ever since I started reading fanfiction I couldn't help but be fascinated by how many excelent writers are around (let's not talk about the bad ones). It sparked in me a desire to write good stories too, but years after that I still feel self-conscious about anything I write. It doesn't help that I don't write in my native language.

Well, what about you guys? For seven days you are the smartest person in the world, what would you do?

I'd give myself tools to keep enhancing things I know how, but I'm shit it at it.

Probably something like meditation for focus, patience and such.

Everything else is just a matter of time, then.

I'd play the stock market for a few days, become a multi-millionaire and then learn whatever takes my fancy. Maybe piano, I've always wanted to be able to play. Writing would be a close second.

Otherwise I'd probably go for programming, specialising in robotics. My dream is to have a smart house that does all the boring stuff in my life for me.

I'd use that time to make the effect permanent.

Unfortunately that kind of research takes longer than one week, no matter how clever you are.

My first response was to knock out every half-completed original fiction idea I've had in the past five years so that I have a small-to-medium stock of completed novellas-to-novels ready by week's end to sustain myself off of.

Then I saw Aekiel's stock-market idea and realized that makes a lot more sense for the first few days. I could use the last to finish a couple of novels.

Linguistics and teaching methodology in German and English to make me an effective teacher. In conjunction with that also a leap in writing capabilities. There's a load of skills worth to learn, but with only one week I'd push what I want to do for the rest of my life to a higher level.

    Booty. All the booty.

In all seriousness, I'd start bt doing what others have said and become a million-air. Using the last few days, I'd use my brilliant speech-making skills and persuasiveness to call for world peace, while using my brilliant mind to work out a solution for global warming etc. etc.

Money, because, well, money. Stock market seems like the best way to go. I don't think it would take all the time in a day, so I'd spend the rest binging on language learning. I think I'd go with French or German, for EU reasons. If it turned out it was possible to do both, even better.

First I thought I'd knock out a few kickass novels, but you know what, I want those to come from me, not from unnaturally-enhanced me.

I would teach myself how to write well enough that even after the effects wore off I would still be at least a decent writer.

Also, I'd learn as many foreign languages as possible. Just because I think its cool.

I would wait 'til I'm on the drug and then spend a few days outlining exactly what I was going to do with the rest of my life. Surely highly-advanced me would be able to construct a blueprint for further advancement? From there, I'd get started, propelling my foolproof plan forward, and even when I get off of the drug a few days later, I would have copious notes on what to do.

Yeah, basically this. Languages are important. I'd also create a step by step plan to get where I want in life, detailed enough that un-enhanced me can follow it with no problem.

It's a good point, but in the end I would like to finally have some of my stories on a paper exactly as I envision them, even if it means to have help from NZT.

Then I would try my luck with the Grand Unified Theory and that would take the rest of my time though I would make few breaks to earn some money.

Write my 2 major HP fanfic ideas out of my head. Then write my 3 major novel ideas. Record myself playing every instrument and upload it on youtube than Make as much money as I possibly can using the stock market and give to everyone that deserves because at the end, seven days of NZT is going to kill you without the shot you need to be able to counter the side effects

Averis basically has the best idea. Make the epic plan while on the drug easy enough that my non-drugged self can still follow it for extreme success.

Failing that, learning programming as much as possible and foreign languages, focused on Chinese, Korean, Japanese, Spanish, and French.

Both together basically ensures a solid future anywhere.

EDIT: Bonus 3rd option: Make the most enduring, best-selling, all-encompassing game possible and start getting people hooked.

NZT should make it possible to decide what you exactly want from life instead of making you successful at life. After that you can create a plan that'll make you successful at THAT.

Though if I had to guess I'd start learning languages not just the current ones but dead languages as well, plus history, and all that jazz.

Always had a thing for archaeology and philology, just didn't have the opportunities nor the resources to follow it up.

Probably write a book in the first two days, change my wardrobe and personal style, learning a couple of languages and maybe a cool instrument like piano

I guess all that should give me enough tools to have a pretty good life after the effect worn off

I would try to construct a Theory of Everything, use any new discoveries/properties in setting up a competitor to Intel/in Energy Sector. If none(unlikely), then I would systematically work through the remaining Seven Millennium Problems most of the time, and spend the rest on investing and creating better(efficient) robots.
