Just a little one-shot that wouldn't go away after I had re-read a bit of OotP. Enjoy!

Taure removed the story from ff.net. Instead I linked the WbA version.

Very nice, I never picked up on that myself. Well written and engaging, and I could actually feel the 'charisma' myself.

Well done. This could actually be a nice way to start off a Dumbledore-centric fic...

Interesting idea turned into a well writen and engaging story.

On the downside, IMO every outstanding one-shot story has to have a 'snap' moment, the big twist, the Point. This story doesn't.
    Thus, 3.8/5

Uh... i didn't understand why you said they were taken in by the speech. The speech, while well said, was pretty standart, the type of things most of those people must have themselves said one or more time. I know Voldemort claimed he was a lord, but i think there is a need for something *else* that seperates him from your "casual muggle hater".

It was never stated outright, but it was implied that Voldemort's voice itself was magical. Think Saruman from The Lord of the Rings.

Ah, I should have been more Careful.

On the other hand, it's good that you were so subtle about it, as if Dumbledore were able to prove that his voice had near-imperius qualities, it might be bad for Voldmort's health. You might have just that scenario to escuse Voldemort going felon, but then you'll have to find escuses for him to be able to find followers.

Overall, i think it would have been much easier to have put this speech in a crisis, like follwoing a rebellion - Muggleborn making strikes in order to get seats in the wizengamot.

    3.5/5

I liked the implications. It was a good one shot.

Good descriptions, good idea; overall I really enjoyed it. It kinda had a curt, serious feeling to it.

Good overall Idea. Though it seems to be lacking a quick plot and a capturing end that is needed in a one-shot.

Good idea. Though I don't normally read oneshots, this wasn't bad. 3.5/5, 4/5 if you continue it into a fullblown fic.

Not bad. Shows some premise of becoming an interesting story. Set in the 60s then yes? I liked it, but like the others have said, it's more a prologue than a stand alone.

    3.5-4/5

while it had no plot to it, it was certainly interesting. Points to you. 4/5.

Read this some time ago and liked it, but it left me a little wanting where Voldemort's speech was concerned. I made note that his voice has magical power, which is quite believable but the speech itself should have been a little longer and moving. Only reason I criticize this aspect is because that is all that the one shot seems to be about. Now, if it were a prologue, a shorter speech just to set things up is nice.

I'd give it a 4 for setting up the back ground, 3.5 over all. I would definitely follow it up if it turned out to be a full fic instead of one-shot.

    Neglected Help:

I like it, but it's a bit short. Hard to judge, but if it was part of a longer story, I think I would like it better. Still, it's quite decent.

I'll call it 3.5/5 - maybe I'll round up for the rating.
