You're thinking of Mab and Titania. Maeve and Sarissa are a lot younger than that.

Also, their father could be either of Mozart or Schubert. Both were famous Austrian composers who died young.

 

You're right, I somehow got confused about whose father he was suppose to be. In that case I would say Mozart because of this.

This sounds like something is going to happen to her, which could be interesting. As for her taking up the Sword soon: finally. She ran out of excuses books ago.

 

She is almost getting to old to continue getting knocked around with out it catching up on her.

Dresden and Murph are gonna bang, for sure. They're all handhold-y and trust-y and domestic-y. Jim said this book's a narrative midpoint, right? Let's not watching the will they won't they for the next books. Just get it done, kids, I'll allow it.

Meanwhile, I'll just be sitting in the corner wishing the oodles of Dresden/Molls angst was more romantically inclined angst so it'll hurt more when things inevitably end badly in the apocalyptic trilogy for Molls and her control issues... Good times.

It was a pretty nice scene with Murphy, but yeah, we all know who Dresden SHOULD be cuddling up with. To your keyboards, DLP!

 

The reasons for picking Murphy as laid out by Harry seemed pretty sound, Murphy is smarter in these types of situations. Initially I had half a hope that Sanya would be the one he picks as a big middle finger to Nicodemus, but that wouldn't have worked for a lot of reasons, story wise. I suppose Murphy is the next best thing.

Do you guys think Nicodemus knows that Murphy took up the sword at Chichen Iza? If so, things could get a bit more interesting...

 

I think that if he did, he would've tried to kill her by now.

 

Nah, he wouldn't have killed her yet. He'd try to use her to get the sword.

 

Guess the plot-line for the second half of the book once the inevitable pre-betrayal betrayal goes down/wrong.

Short but sweet chapters and I enjoy the way Butcher does character interaction but at this point if Harry and Murphy don't get horizontal/call it quits by the end of the book I'm seriously going to wonder how much longer Jim plans on dragging it out.

 

It's the end of the school year and I'm swamped. Can anyone explain why Nicodemus is still alive? I seem to have missed or forgotten that.

I thought Dresden held on for a few minutes and only squeezed harder after he went limp, then tossed him overboard too?

 

The noose makes Nicodemus immortal, he can only die if he is strangled with it as far as we know. Harry almost got him (Nicodemus even states that Harry got very close) by doing just that, but Deirdre ran to her fathers rescue at the time and Harry was forced to dump Nicodemus into the lake, before he could finish the job.

It seems that even lack of oxygen won't kill Nicodemus, if its from a cause other than being strangled by the noose. Drowning apparently did not kill Nicodemus, because Harry had released his hold on the noose.

Presumably Anduriel (Nicodemus fallen) also gives Nicodemus superhuman durability.
