I don't think I've ever read any KKC fanfiction, but this, I believe, is a good one. It's short and sweet and captures a shade of Rothfuss's writing. It presents a nice backstory of Bast and Kvothe's meetings.

Very nice. By god I miss this. The Name of the Wind was the best book I've read. Ever! Maybe this is a sign and Patrick will release the third book in the next 40 years.

 

yes. This is a full-strung tale worth reading. read a fae tale of a prince a lover killer and broken man.

 

Wow, it certainly did a good job capturing the tone and style of the books. As much as I'd normally hate to be dragged back into thinking about The Name of the Wind, it's certainly worth it for this. Great find!

 

Good but not great. There's a tonal capture there, but it's off, and both of them, but Bast especially feels different. Hard to tell if that's because I'm comparing to memories of the book there uncharitably, but it doesn't sit quite right.

Yeah, the tone was quite well executed IMO. It's been a few years since I last opened a Kingkiller Chronicles novel but this struck the right notes for me. I did not expect much when I saw how short it was but I liked most all of the words I read.

I got more than I expected.

Echo others and say it comes close to the right kind of wordplay, but stumbles at the finish line to collect the bronze.

 

oh my... you brought back so many memories... i surely miss it a lot... and as Joe said... i've also got a lot more than I expected!

 

Damn. Makes me wish there was another book to read.
