Summary: Sequel to "A Darker Shade of Green." Rita's evil spell is lifted, and Tommy's on the side of good. Of course, Tommy's problems are not over, as he has to deal with lingering mistrust from his new team, as well as Rita's new assault against the Rangers.

Part two of by far the best Power Rangers fanfic series out there. This one deals mainly with the "Island of Illusion" arc for season one, but basically if you liked the first one you'll love this one. As a reviewer in the part one thread the only bad part about this is that if you reread this to many times you end watching power rangers again 5/5

Or worse, make you watch the series for the very first time.

I read A Darker Shade of Green before I watched season 1 of MMPR, and after I got over the residual trauma I went back and reread the fic before I read this one. While watching Power Rangers is painfully similar to watching Barney, this universe redeemed the experience for me.

Spells and Illusions is a good story with great characterization, and it's a nice, easy read for a slow afternoon or a long night. 5/5 from me.

No re-watching is much worse because you remember thinking it was actually good.

The original Power Rangers were da shit. I still want to marry the Pink Ranger.

For those bitching about the actual series, it's always best to remember they're hardly serious sci-fi, and more campy. As long as you remember that, you'll enjoy them all the more.

So what you're really saying is:

For those bitching about the actual series, it's always best to remember they're fucking god-awful.

They're only god-awful if you hate campy stuff (though some of it was much more serious). Same thing as not liking early seasons of Stargate SG-1, or Quantum Leap, or Sliders.

Also, this from a person whose nation created Doctor Who? That show's gone from cheesy to dark more times than I've used weapons.

For the record, Doctor Who is god-awful too.

(Also, the first episode of SG1 isn't too camp. At least, the unedited version isn't. That shit was rated the UK equivalent of NC-17 lol.)

... You offend me sir.

Yeah, Word of God was they did the frontal nudity of Daniel's wife to get a more mature rating, if I remember correctly.

I suddenly feel the need to find the uncut version of that episode.
