Mass Effect 2 is currently FREE on Origin.

If you haven't got it, grab it. Well worth the price and more.

The free game on Origin changed and is now a game called Syberia II. The game before this one was Mass Effect.
I haven't got a chance to test it and I'm not sure if I will do so.
I just wanted to let everybody know.

Elite Dangerous is currently on sale. Has anyone played this? Is it worth it? Every time it goes on sale I keep thinking I am going to get it, but never pull the trigger

There's a thread for it somewhere. It's pretty fun, though as a heads up: there is no storyline. It's easy to get burnt out if you don't like setting goals/objectives for yourself.

ED is beautiful. It is, however not, for everyone.

I absolutely love it. Brilliant game, nice graphics, lovely soundtrack and background noises...

But there's no plot. There IS a meta-game going on, but you won't be able to have any real impact on that for quite some time, although the minor power struggles in each system are something you might influence.

There's also loads of sites out there to help figure out what you should be trading and such (if you go into that), or where you should be mercing yourself out, and so on. I used them for a while, but it made me lose interest - I actually quite enjoyed drawing up my own spreadsheets and figuring out the most profitable cargo myself, but that's not for everyone.

    HOWEVER

It isn't a game I hop in and out of. I tend to only play on weekends, when I have nothing coming the next day, and so can get five or more hours at once. Doing one or two trade runs, or bounty hunts, just doesn't feel like it has much of an impact on my savings.

And remember, never fly without rebuy, commander. o7

    Well holy shit

    Steam Gifting Changes

Edit: You cannot gift games to someone if the price in your region is at least roughly 10% lower than the price in the region of the person you are gifting to.

For example, I live in the US. I would not be able to gift PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds to someone in the UK, which I tested

Double Edit: Friend from Canada just tried to send Civ VI to someone in Europe, which is a bit over 10% price difference and was denied. Looks like the price threshold is 10%.

Wonder if that threshold is the same the other way around.

That is, if you buy a game in a country where you pay more, and try to gift to a country that pays less for the same game.

Of course it isn't. Why would they? That's to their benefit and free profit.
