An interesting look at Joker's first visit to Arkham.

I'm only up to a third of the fourth chapter, but its pretty freaking interesting, even if it is Nolan-verse Joker... But still, Nolan!Joker was the best portrayal of Joker and closest to the original... The author seems to be mixing in Comic!Joker too, though, with his obsession with Batman...

But that's another thing... Joker's referencing of Batman is damn close to being Slash implications. "His Batman"? :/ Its not really a problem, just off-putting...

3/5 for now, but if I gets better later on, I'd probably rate higher..

I loved it, right up until the end of chapter 39.

You can tell the author did some research. As you said it makes for an interesting read. As for Comic!Joker vs Nolan!Joker, I guess it's a matter of preference. I like both and the "mixing" doesn't bother me. It can lead to a more complex portrayal of the Joker IMO.

It's popular in the fandom to show Joker's obsession with the Batman as somewhat... slashy. It depends on the author on how far they take the implications. I guess I've gotten used to it that it doesn't really register anymore. :/ It doesn't play a large role in the story and the author doesn't focus on it much from what I remember.

What did you dislike about the last two chapters? I didn't love the ending, and it was the main reason that I gave a 4/5 rating instead of something higher. However, it sets the story up for the sequel. (I've just glanced through it as I'm waiting for the author to add a few more chapters before I read it.)

If you liked the author's writing I would also suggest her oneshot Dearest Doctor Arkham. I may have cracked a rib from laughing so hard when I read it.

Joker was kind of obsessed with Batman, but it was more they he saw them as friends, rather than some twisted latex/rubber sex fetish club... It's just annoying.

    Uh, what?

Having said that, yeah. I prefer when the Joker acts like they're old pals, or when he counts them as necessary adversaries, two halves of a whole. This... this is just creepy.

But given this is the Joker, I think creepy works well with him too.
