Accepting a bid from City for Sanchez, conditional to us signing a replacement, whose club accepts a bid for him - only for the whole thing to flop because the player rejects us is prime banter era. Selling defenders, and not signing a CM is also.

I think leaving the Bridge disappointed to not have 3 points is the best I could have reasonably hoped for?

Luiz doing stupid Luiz things just when we were having a good phase in the game. And he had such a good game until then too... Such a stupid needless reckless challenge because he just has to dribble into traffic. Luckily he didn't break a leg or anything with that but that was beyond idiotic challenge.

Yeah, that referee is a fucking tool. The player had already turned away and clearly didn't mean to do that. Shame that he will probably get away with his stupid power-tripping.

    Tony Pulis is sacked.

I'm really not sure what they're going to do to stay up. When you can't even play the epitome of anti-football anymore, which is about the only thing they were going to do with that lineup, you're probably going down. Maybe Big Sam will come to the rescue, but that has to be the least attractive job opening in the PL this year.

Five English clubs in the round of 16, and all looking pretty damned good too. Probably still fodder for the Spanish tax evasion crowd, but still.

Really hoping we can snatch Besiktas in the draw. Would be like a lottery win, except we have a 33% chance for it.

Yeah. Porto, Besiktas, Basel maybe. Roma might not be too bad, and Juve isn't really playing as well as usual this year either.

Probably get Barca though, and have to watch Suarez beat us like a dog. :(

We (Chelsea) actually have a 28% chance to draw Besiktas, another 28% for PSG but 43% for Barca due to Barcelona's draw also being limited like ours.

True yeah. I didn't check it, just saw that there were only three possibilities.

Aaaaand here we are. Been a bit since I cared about a CL draw, this feels nice.

    Juventus - Tottenham
    Basel - Manchester City
    Porto - Liverpool
    Sevilla - Manchester United
    Real Madrid - PSG
    Shakhtar Donetsk - Roma
    Chelsea - Barcelona
    Bayern Munich - Besiktas

Could have done worse than Porto, definitely. Therefore, we'll get destroyed.

Madrid - PSG and Chelsea - Barcelona are some pretty good quarterfinal matches on paper. Let's hope that actually translates.

The Ornacle reports that Arsenal are close to an agreement with Borussia Dortmund for signing Aubameyang. It does depend though on whether Dortmund are able to get a replacement in time.

What do you guys think about VAR?

Personally, I think that it is a good thing because it helps the referees make the correct decision and of losing a game because the ref couldn't see want was happening or just made a mistake that is easily preventable is almost worse than losing in the first place. I also don't think that they take away from the excitement either, I was watching the Liverpool vs West Brom game an I got much more tense while waiting for the verdict.

That said I think that there are some things that do need to be fixed with the process. Firstly, I think that the people in the ground need to know what is happening. At the moment they're left in the dark a bit. Also I think that they should leave the video analysis solely up to a specialist VAR referee which would cut down on the time that it takes to make the decision.

I think it's ludicrous that the screens at the ground don't keep the those on and off the pitch updated.

Not as ludicrous as the ridiculous hyperbolic 'It's taking the soul out of the game!' nonsense.
