    Title: Thinking Of You
    Author: Memento Vivere
    Rating: T
    Genre: Tragedy/Horror
    DLP Category: General
    Pairing: none

Summary: There's a ghost in the cupboard under the stairs. Aaron Dursley can hear him. AU, abuse implied- not a happy story.

Yea I know Dursley abuse is a plot element long disliked by us but it is only ever implied in this fic and not the reason I recc'd it. The angst may also be annoying to some but I felt it worked well here.

    My only beef was

Harry dying and Dumbledore taking the excuse that Snape took him away. But I guess we can assume that after fact checking this with the man himself, the Dursleys fed Dumbledore an excuse that was far more believable.

    4/5

Harry choosing to be a ghost when he dies is cripplingly stupid.

The idea itself is fine. It's quite refreshing, actually. Just a look at a possible alternate universe where Harry dies young, while still at the Dursley's.

In that regard, I see nothing wrong with it. Stalin's beef is also my beef. We can make sandwiches.

    It's a nice, short, what-if story. 4/5

It's not terrible by any stretch of the imagination. Coming back as a ghost actually makes a lot of sense. Comparable situation with Myrtle, though I suppose his was more violent.

I found that to be oddly... creepy. A good read none the less even if the grammar was simple. Being that it's written from the point of view of a small boy it works though.

Im pretty sure he starved to death. "Always hungry..."

I laughed at ending. While the story was quite silly in plot, the ending made it be quite stupid overall.

The fact that the story must have happened 20 or so years after Harry died at minimum, Dudley being forced by the plot to kill his family, Dumbledore being too stupid to be able to figure out what happened to Harry, and the war just conveniently at the stage that it would cause the most drama by still having the war just starting.

I don't see any reason for this to be in the library, but it did cause enough amusement to get a two out of five.

It's not bad, but it's not good either.
I really don't have much to say other than it felt kind of pointless reading it. The writing was bland, and so was the concept.

At least, what was done with it wasn't interesting. I don't have a problem with the premise; it's just
Dudley kills his family (for no real reason) and the second war starts up
is the entire story. Add in an extra 2000 words and that's it.

I don't know. I got the impression that Dudley committed suicide because of his overwhelming guilt. He killed his son because said son was a wizard and his wife just to finish the job.

I can see that I misread Dudley's last words. At first I thought he was talking about Harry being better off, but he's talking about his son.

See, I figured the author didn't know you had to be magical to see ghosts, because Dudley could see Harry. Given that, Dudley didn't really have a reason to suspect his kid was magical, so I assumed he didn't. I was mistaken.
