Here's some news for those who haven't heard about it yet. (source)

Butcher announced 4 upcoming short stories:

A trilogy of short stories with linked characters in which Bigfoot is Dresden’s client:

B is for Bigfoot - set between Fool Moon and Grave Peril, published in Under My Hat: Tales from the Cauldron
I Was A Teenage Bigfoot - set around the time of Dead Beat, published in Blood Lite III: Aftertaste
Bigfoot on Campus - set between Turn Coat and Changes, published in Hex Appeal

As well as one Molly-centric which will be published in Dangerous Women, a cross-genre anthology featuring stories about women warriors, co-edited by George R. R. Martin and Gardner Dozois.

I've always loved Molly as a character. I think I have a thing for that one person with an unrequited crush... Aaanyways. I loved the darker turn of her character and I'm really eager to see both where it goes.

Update! These are coming sooner than expected, two of them within a week or so of each other, and one of them... on Tuesday? FTW.

I'm trying to figure out why I don't feel any particular urgency to read the Bigfoot trilogy, even though it sounds pretty hilarious on paper.

Meh, I must be getting impatient for Cold Days. Damn you, fall 2012 release date!

I just don't want to buy 3 different books (with work from a bunch of authors I'm not interested in) to read what is basically one side-story.

Why can't they just put them together?

This. When the next Dresden collection is released, I'll buy it ASAP.

Does anyone know of any alternative means of acquiring these short stories yet?

I think after few days of being published, it shouldn't be too hard to find it online. Though probably it would take a great deal of research.

There is indeed, if you are a gentleman of ill repute and willing to sail the open seas. Or, demonoid. One or the other.

This. I have absolutely zero interest in those other authors, so until these are combined or available in some other format, I'll (reluctantly) pass.

Wait, wait. Is Cold Days coming out THIS Fall? I thought Butcher was only beginning to write Cold Days this spring or summer - was I wrong?

I distantly remember something about the first draft's deadline being this summer. Also, I much as I hate waiting, you must admit that this book can only be released in winter. :)

    Cold Days release FAQ

Most probably we'll see Cold Days around new year... amazon.co.uk has release date set for 3 Jan 2013, so there you have it...

So it's the manuscript's deadline, not the first draft's. Close enough. ;)

Remember that Jim usually does two books per year (different series, since he'd get sick of doing solely Dresden books at that pace), so he's not exactly a slow writer.

That reminds me - any word what his new second series will be about? Or maybe he plans some stand alone books?

Last I heard on the ButcherBoards was he is planning on doing his scifi series now, because he wants to do something completely different from previous work.

But I haven't been posting there for a while, so it might be worth checking.

And then it will be the Epic, Epic Fantasy Epic. Possibly. I'm looking forward to that. I only have to wait a decade or so.

Next up is a steampunk-ish story from what I heard last, but we shall see?

I know he recently watched all of Star Blazers and Robotech, so if he does sci-fi then :awesome and steampunk stuff is also pretty :awesome.

I'm not sure if Butcher wanted a whole new series, but he did mention, that if he were to write more of Codex Alera it would be like 1000 years into the future with stempunk-ish industrial revolution theme....
