Hobbit 3 looks like good times. They really needed a better subheader title for it though.

Bay's talents is that his productions tend to run very smoothly and make the studios a profitable return, regardless of actual entertainment ability. He's a film-to-film director, not someone like Christopher Nolan or what have you who wants proper storytelling.

Watching the credits after Guardians atm. Fantastic movie.

The story is take it or leave it, but the characters and their chemistry is top notch.

Everyone was cast brilliantly and I can't wait for #2 where we hopefully learn more about them and see them grow more.

Saw gotg yesterday and thought it was fantastic. The perfect combination of a comic book movie not taking itself too seriously.

Thought on it some more. I think it's awesome by the director to be able to pull off an Avengers-like cast without having the luxury of several movies setting them up.

The relationships may have felt a bit rushed because of that in guardians, but I didn't begrudge it.

Dat after credits scene though... Lol

Finally got around to seeing it, guys.

It is just as good as I expected it to be.

Yeah I also had the luck of seeing it in a Sneak (since it doesn´t come out in Germany till later this month) and it was really entertaining.

I also saw Lucy last week and I am bit conflicted about it. The whole 10% is of course bullshit but if you manage to accept that it was an OK movie with a strong beginning and a weak ending.

Yeah, GotG was decent, I don't think it was as good as everyone's making it out to be.

As Hugplx said, the story was meh at best, but the acting and chemistry was great. For a cast of almost total unknowns they did a fantastic job.

(When I say unknowns, I mean I don't know them. I know very little about movie stars , so i may be wrong here)

Movies I've seen this year and my reactions to them:

Need for Speed - I liked it. This could be the start of a nice franchise.
Captain America: The Winter Soldier - Better than the first one. A solid entry in the MCU.
Dawn of the Planet of the Apes - Enjoyed it, APES NOT WANT WAR!
X-Men: Days of Future Past - Basically the studio's apology for X-Men 3. Apology accepted.
Guardians of the Galaxy - Movie of the year, hands down.
Brick Mansions - A terrible remake of a wonderful movie. This is such bullshit, District 13 is light years beyond this movie.
A Million Ways to Die in the West - Mildly amusing.

Ooh, let me try! One sentence reviews, that's a challenge.

Movies I've seen this year by release date:
    Jack Ryan Shadow Recruit: Bleh.
Knights of Badassdom: A dull disappointment, tried to celebrate nerdiness, ended up being silly.
The Lego Movie: Highly enjoyable and surprisingly deep for a toy movie.
Winter's Tale: Overlong and overstuffed. Bad.
The Grand Budapest Hotel: It's good, but not Wes Anderson's best. Ralph Fiennes was great though.
Journey to the West: Stephen Chow returns with his third, amazing kung fu movie. Awesome.
Veronica Mars: It's okay, but not as good as season one of the show, not as forgettable as season three.
Muppet's Most Wanted: Decent laughs, not nearly as good as the last one.
    Noah: Amazing. Astounding. Literally Awesome.
The Raid 2: The action scenes were fantastic, but the forcibly inserted neonoir plot wasn't so good.
Under the Skin: A beguiling, disturbing movie that sticks with you.
Captain America The Winter Soldier: Fun and action packed movie, better than the first one, one of the best of the year.
Dom Hemingway: Jude Law was great, but the movie is forgettable antihero nonsense.
Only Lovers Left Alive: Evocative and slow at times, but Hiddleston and Swinton are great. I'm annoyed about the Shakespeare conspiracy theory trite the director snuck in though.
Draft Day: The very definition of forgettable sports-related movie.
Blue Ruin: A violent revenge movie crossed with an indie spirit. Well done movie.
Locke: Excellent movie and showcase of Tom Hardy, really draws you in.
Chef: A lovely food porn movie that's main flaw is that Jon Favreau cast Scarlett Johansson and Sofia Vergara as his love interests. Please.
The Immigrant: Sad movie, but Marion Cotillard is brilliant.
Blended: Adam Sandler does it again! And by "it" I mean utter garbage.
X-Men Days of Future Past: 2nd best x-men movie. Fassbender continues to be excellent, with McAvoy a strong second placer.
Filth: Just saw this one. Holy crap. THIS is is James McAvoy's performance of the year. Gotta recommend this dark comedy.
Edge of Tomorrow: An action movie that's a thinker. Really liked it, shame it bombed.
Obvious Child: Highly overrated indie movie about abortion.
22 Jump Street: The impossible movie: a funny comedy sequel.
Yves Saint Laurent: Meh. Only if you like the subject matter.
Snowpiercer: Brutal dystopian action movie that works.
Boyhood: People call it a masterpiece. They are right.
Land Ho!: My grandparents will love this one.
Wish I Was Here: Zach Braff wastes people's money.
    Hercules: The Rock is wasted.
    Lucy: Stupid but fun stupid.
Guardians of the Galaxy: An action movie with thrills and heart. One of the best of the year.
Calvary: Brendon Gleeson is a marvel in this dark, dark movie.
The Expendables 3: There's a reason nobody saw this.
The Giver: Decent, but it's been done better by others.
Sin City A Dame to Kill For: Like the first, but not as good.
Kundo: A Korean take on Tarentino.
Love is Strange: My parents will love this.

Man... I need to watch more movies!

I went to see Lucy today.

Despite the absurd premise, it's a very good film

Saw Edge of Tomorrow. Tom Cruise was brilliant in it (yes I know what I wrote). Great movie.

Recently saw Edge of Tomorrow as well as HTTYD 2. Decent films, HTTYD gave me mixed feelings and EoT was fun.

I saw The Drop last night, and it was a damn good movie. Went into it expecting a generic heist thriller type of thing, and I was incredibly surprised.

Lucy certainly went in an interesting direction. I mostly just enjoyed watching her play with her brain magic.

The Maze Runner looks interesting, I know next to nothing about it but I have the book and planned on reading it beforehand.
