Anyone know any good warcraft fics? It seems like it could be an interesting fandom, but a brief search didn't seem too promising.

It's a complete trilogy running concurrently with the Warcraft 3 & Frozen Throne campaign. It's been a few months since I read it, but I was actually considering recommending it to the library. The writing didn't have any glaring errors that I can recall and the plot managed to keep it interesting, even if the Warcraft 3 canon remained unchanged.

Reading the first 3 chapters will give a pretty good idea of what to expect from the story far better then I could ever put in words here.

Edit: It's split into 3 different stories, so just click on the author's profile to get the rest.

Okay, fair warning, going to recc everything I know with Warcraft in it, so, a few crossovers among them:

    In no particular order:

An Acolyte of Zero by Shadenight123

Crossover with Familiar of Zero, not a particularly well written story, and definitely more of a FoZ story but I do enjoy the Warcraft elements. Worth checking out. Writing is meh but it does pay off in terms of entertainment and seeing Louise go down the slippery slope of being a death knight.

The Ties That Bind by Eyes Like Dawn

Decent read, romance between Jaina and Thrall, IIRC. Was okay, nothing amazing but a decent time waster if you are in the mood for something like this.

    Frostblood Pocephalus

I really liked this one. If I remember right, this was relatively well written and definitely entertaining. Doesn't take itself all that seriously at times but still, portrays the situation rather well and it made me power through it in a night.

    Diplomacy by Weiila

Another Jaina/Thrall story, which was once again relatively okay, perhaps even good. Quite liked this one.

The Legend of Uzumaki Naruto: A Beginning by General Grievous

I've read this last a few years ago and back then, it was quite good, uncertain how it would measure up now, seeing that it probably uses a few what are now clichés. But still, one of the better crossovers, relatively speaking. Naruto in the warcraft world, quite entertaining. Also has a sequel of equal length, so, you would be busy for a while with this one. Decently written and quite fun.

So, yeah, didn't find all that many Warcraft stories.

I would not recommend The legend of Uzumaki: A Beginning if you enjoy the Warcraft lore, considering that the fic shits all over it.

War of the Sightless Eye is the best Warcraft fanfic I've ever read. It's fantastic, published novel quality. OCs though, and no cross-overs. I hate OCs, and this is still the best Warcraft fic ever.

The author also has his Diablo fic in the Library.

This was a rather decent character piece:

Pale as Grass in Winter by wanda von dunayev

Always interesting to see stories told through the eyes of people like this, zealots and all.

    And this

    Honor
    by Nex-thanerak

Well written but odd since I do not know if i like this take on the Orcs.

It's been my impression that Warcraft is somewhat like Star Trek or Star Wars in that it has official 'fanfiction.' I.e. approved novels you can pick up on amazon or in the bookstore.

If I was going to enter the fandom that's where I'd personally start.

The fanfic I enjoy the most in Warcraft is probably Impervious
Seems to be set in the late TBC period of WoW, just before WotLK.
