Would it be possible to have an edit function like wikipedia, where we can almost directly fix whatever we want on page?

I know it's not necessary per say, but it would certainly be a cool perk for PC.

 

Or even better than Wiki, a Quick Edit tool like here on the forums.

 

Seriously, though - I love the idea.

 

With a few teaks, this could lead to an amazing Betaing service. An author uploads a document, and by some process the beta is able to access it to read it as if it were a published story, and edit it on the spot, right there on the screen.

Makes betaing all internal to the site, rather than authors and betas having to email back and forth.

As for the process of allowing the beta to see the documents...

Perhaps authors could be able to designate beta readers, by the same process as selecting favourite authors. If you are a beta reader of a specific author, you can see a hidden section of their User Profile, "Works in Process" or something like that.

 

Heh, now there's a possiblity for a multi-author story...

 

Perhaps have a "permissions list" of who can use the "Edit" link on any given chapter, set only by the author or an admin.
