    Protip: This is retarded.

Also I am now inherently suspicious of this. If my original fiction appears somewhere else I'm going to fuckin' rage at OP.

I got Margaret Atwood for a random short forum post. Douglas Adams and Stephen King for a couple of longer texts.

I stuck original (non-fiction) stuff on it which had already been published in other venues (and, thus, something which they lack the rights to reproduce) and I never gave anything more than 3 paragraphs

Well, with the exception of 3 year old debate opening statements and some posts here. I really hope that no one is putting original stuff on it.

I must admit, that hadn't occured to me...but equally, would anyone put an entire piece of OF on it? That would be fairly retarded.

Huh... Apparently I write like James Fenimore Cooper.

The site is an interesting idea. It'd be fun to see a version of this that actually worked.

Well, I did. One of my very old short stories. Don't think it will be any use for whomever created this site, because it is in Polish language (I was curious what it will show when text is not written in English, apparently James Joyce could wrote that). It would be definitely interesting to see it published somewhere even without me as the author ;) .

Also, from what I read about guys who created that, I don't think they are interested in any form of plagiarism. And I'd love to see what algorithms they used, even if they are far from being perfect.

I stuck the first two pages of my novel in before I really thought about it. :c

For writing got JK Rowling, but when I changed names and places got Raymond Chandler.
Original Work: James Joyce for a long monologue from character in a play, and for a prose piece I was working on got Dan Brown.

Edit: Yeah just stuck a few random paragraphs, really wouldn't do anyone any good.

Dumped my old philosophy essay in there and I got HP Lovecraft.

Put a few paragraphs from Chapter 17 of Renegade Cause in and I got Stephen King.

Put a few paragraphs from Chapter 27 of RC in and I got James Joyce.

A few paragraphs from Silence Game and I get Arthur Conan Doyle.

I call bullshit on all of this. Everyone knows my writing style most closely resembles that of Robert Ludlum.

I consistently get either Chuck Palahniuk or Douglas Adams, regardless of story content.

How does the comparison between writing work? It seems to use straight-up word choices as well as stylistic preferences - short sentences for paragraphs (dialogue intensive scenes, etc.) also consistently result in Stephen King. It would be interesting to know the method behind this in more detail.

Hmm... depending on what paragraphs I plug into it from Circular Reasoning, I get an eclectic mixture of Stephen King, Jack London, James Joyce, and Kurt Vonnegut. I also had George Orwell, Ian Fleming and P.G. Wodehouse pop up a few times from my original scraps.

It seems like this thing just takes a look at the cadence of your writing style and word choice and analyzes it from there.

A poem got me James Joyce.
I got Dan Brown for a short autobiographical piece.
I probably shouldn't have put an original poem in there.

Yeah. You'll really feel dumb when the guy who made this website publishes that poem and makes millions on it.

    Oh wait.
